Victim's wife implicated in murder

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE Nov. 9. The Ashok Guttedar murder case has taken a new turn with the police disclosing the involvement of Guttedar's wife, 26-year-old Padmavathi, in the killing.

Subhash Patil, the MBBS student arrested in the case, is said to have had an illicit relationship with Padmavathi. Police said that Patil, a student of M.R. Medical College in Gulbarga, had confessed to having shot and killed Ashok Guttedar, a Gulbarga-based excise contractor. "He has revealed the details of his affair (with Padmavathi) and also their conspiracy to murder," stated the police.

Guttedar (30) was killed at his father-in-law's house in Bangalore in June this year.

The investigation indicated that the death was caused by a bullet fired from a country-made revolver, from a short range. The accused, Subhash Patil was arrested on November 7 and has been remanded in judicial custody till November 18.
