According to an official release, the model road will be from Naduvilal till Puzhakkal. The plan is to reconstruct the existing road from Naduvilal to Puzhakkal through the Civil Station by incorporating modern facilities in it. A meeting for discussing the works on the model road was held at the Collectorate conference hall on Friday. It decided to constitute a coordination committee by including the concerned departments and Corporation to complete the steps for the removal of electric and telephone posts in a time-bound manner. It asked the Corporation to speed up the procedure to dismantle constructions that violate rules and also illegal occupations along the side of the existing road. Therambil Ramakrishnan, MLA, the Mayor, Jose Kattookkaran, district panchayat president, M. V. Vishalakshy, District Collector, V. M. Gopalamenon, chairman of Thrissur Urban Development Authority, M. K. Kannan, Corporation councillors and officials attended the meeting.
