Warning over Pushkar mela

By Our Diplomatic Correspondent

NEW DELHI NOV. 13. The American Embassy said today that it had received information suggesting a risk of "terrorist activity'' at the Pushkar mela, which begins tomorrow. ``While we have no indication of a specific threat to American citizens, we advise that they should avoid this event,'' an Embassy statement said.

``The U.S. citizens are reminded that they should exercise vigilance when in the vicinity of Government installations, visiting tourist sites, or attending public events around India,'' the statement added.
