Quattrocchi challenges court order

KUALA LUMPUR NOV. 18. The Italian businessman, Ottavio Quatrocchi, has challenged a Malaysian High Court verdict rejecting his request for a judicial review of the case of his extradition to India to stand trial in the Bofors gun deal case.

Last month, a Kuala Lumpur court ruled that Mr. Quattrocchi's application for a judicial review of the extradition case, filed in a sessions court, was premature and that he should wait for the outcome of the extradition proceedings.

Meanwhile, the session court judge, Junaidah Mohammad Idris, today appointed Judge Akhtar Tahir to preside over the extradition case.
