The Itar-Tass news agency quoted the NPO Mashinostroyenia head, Gerbert Yefremov, as saying that the new anti-ship missile would have no match in the world for another 10 years. Mr. Putin promised Government support for efficient aerospace companies, such as NPO Mashinostroyenia. "We will definitely not be bottling Coca-Cola on these premises," he said referring to some botched experiments with converting Russian defence factories to unrelated civilian production. Mr. Putin said the Government would provide enough funding for the aerospace industry, not only to stay afloat, but to develop.
