The field for this prestigious amateur tournament includes Manav Das and Keshav Mishra, members of the Indian team at the Asian Games in Busan, Simarjeet Singh, thrice winner of the Sri Lankan Amateur Open and promising youngsters like H.S. Kang, Manav Jaini, Chirag Kumar, Jasjit Singh, Vikrant Chopra and Mohammed Wazir. The local challenge is led by V. Ram Narayanan, and V. Ramakrishna. Also in the fray are Coimbatore's young hopes Joseph Chakola (jr), R. Prithviraj and Raghavendra Naidu. The course is in an impeccable state after the recent rains. The course is a " monstrous beauty" said P.B.H. Pawar, the newly elected golf captain of the Coimbatore Golf Club. The event is sponsored by Lakshmi Machine Works.
