Mumbai wins again

MUMBAI NOV. 19. Delhi caved in as expected in the face of Mumbai's determination on Tuesday. The four-day Ranji Trophy Elite match ended half an hour before stumps on the third day at the Wankhede stadium, the latter winning outright by nine wickets, the second back-to-back victory for Paras Mhambrey's boys.

The struggle for survival over the first two days told on the visitor in the second innings, wickets lost by demon in the batsmen's minds more than any devil in the wicket or punch in the bowling.

Faced with the prospect of playing out two full days, the visitors' challenge flickered briefly before the flame died out.

Faced with an easy target of 73 for an outright win, the former Ranji Trophy champion finished the task in 16.4 overs, opener Wasim Jaffer (45 not out off 53 balls) knocking off the runs in the company of Milind Tamhane.

Mumbai now has four points from two Elite games.
