Rupee slides against $

MUMBAI NOV. 20. The rupee weakened slightly against the U.S. currency today on renewed pent-up dollar demand from banks in an otherwise quiet and directionless trading at the interbank foreign exchange market.

Losing yet another paise from Monday's finish of 48.2050/2150, the rupee closed at 48.2200/2250 after dipping to intraday low of 48.2250/2350. It, however, opened on a firm footing at 48.1950/2050.
