The State cabinet in a decision yesterday approved an amount of about Rs 60 million for construction of building to house such courts. Cabinet Secretary Jayanta Dasgupta said that each court building would cost an estimated Rs 4,28,000. In another important decision, the state cabinet resolved to release Rs 846 million as the grant from the state for implementa- tion of Prime Minister's Gramoday Yojana. The cabinet also decided to release the arrears prior to February 24,1997, to non-official members and office bearers of Panchayat Samities. Mr Dasgupta said that in deference to a proposal from agriculture department, the state cabinet approved release of state's share for centrally sponsored command area development programme to the tune of Rs 124 million for irrigation projects of Sone, Gandak, Kosi and Kiul rivers. The Bihar Government has also decided to raise Rs 327.11 crores in 2012 at Rs 7.80 per cent interest by launching Bihar State Development Loan (second series). The Cabinet has also approved an action plan for evicting encroachers from the land acquired by Bihar State Housing Board for development of a housing colony. The nod came following the stricture issued by High Court to take action against the Chief Secretary and some other officials for contempt of court. The cabinet decided to submit the action plan to the High Court at the earliest. The plan envisges beginning of demolition of illegal structures from Digha land on June 1, 2003. - UNI
