GE Shipping defers decision on SCI

MUMBAI NOV. 21. Great Eastern Shipping Company today decided to pull out of the race for a majority 51 per cent stake in Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) "for the time being in the light of the continued uncertainity on the timing of the sale process.''

"Having pursued SCI's sale process for well over nine months now, at this point of time the company has decided not to pursue the acquisition of SCI for the time being,'' GE Shipping said in a release here today.
