Cong. MLA's supporters attack party office

By Our Special Correspondent

AHMEDABAD Nov. 22. The supporters of the sitting Congress member of the dissolved Gujarat Assembly from Kalupur in Ahmedabad city, Farookh Sheikh, today ransacked the State party headquarters fearing that he might be denied re-nomination to contest the December 12 Assembly elections.

About 200 supporters of Mr. Sheikh assembled in front of the PCC headquarters here and demanded that his name be cleared immediately. On being told that the party's central election committee in Delhi was considering the matter, the enraged supporters entered the office and smashed the window-panes and broke the furniture.
