NEW DELHI DEC. 7. The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, today made a token contribution to the cause of the rehabilitation of ex-servicemen and families of those who sacrificed their lives for the country.

A four-member delegation of the Kendriya Sainik Board led by its secretary, Lokesh K. Batra, visited the Prime Minister's residence and pinned a flag on him on the occasion of the armed forces Flag Day.

This day is observed every year as an occasion for every citizen to take pride in and express solidarity with the armed forces. The contributions made to the Flag Day Fund are utilised by the Sainik Board for empowerment of widows, disabled soldiers, ex-servicemen and their dependents. — PTI
