Rebel BSP MLA arrested

Gorakhpur Dec. 11. Police today arrested the BSP MLA, Jai Prakash Yadav, who revolted against the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Ms. Mayawati, while he was going with his wife to surrender before a Court in connection with two criminal cases. Mr. Yadav and his wife Vijayalaxmi, absconding since two criminal cases were registered against them in different police stations, were arrested from Betiahata locality of Cant police station. They were later produced before the Judicial Magistrate, A.K. Pandey, who rejected their bail plea and remanded them to judicial custody.
