Speaking at the regional training conference at the NSSO South Regional office here, he said the survey officials from Cuddapah, Chittoor, Anantapur, Kurnool, Prakasam and Guntur would be given three days' training beginning today. Data on the living conditions of farmers, land holdings, cattle census, loans and investments would be gathered, besides the family expenditure pattern of both the employed and unemployed persons, he said. Mr. Gurumurthy urged the officials to compile data in a foolproof manner, as the Government would have to formulate various schemes and programmes for the farmers' welfare and poverty alleviation based on this data. He cautioned them that improper data compilation could lead to disparities and other problems and sought the people's cooperation. Earlier, the chief planning officer, V. Murali, inaugurated the training camp. The additional director of NSSO, Cuddapah, D. Satish, and other officials participated.
