MPs to join fight against AIDS

NEW DELHI Dec. 21. Cutting across party lines, a group of parliamentarians have decided to join the Government and help sharpen the fight against the menace of HIV/AIDS.

At a meeting here, the MPs, led by Kirit Somayya of the BJP, decided to contribute at least Rs.1,000 each from their MPs' Local Area Development Fund for projects aimed at creating awareness on the disease.

The meeting was chaired by the Union Health Minister, Shatrughan Sinha.
