Jawan among 5 killed in Poonch

Jammu Dec. 21. One Army jawan and three militants were killed in an encounter in Poonch district of Jammu region since last night.

Police sources told The Hindu that in the encounter between security personnel and militants which took place in Mendhar area, constable Rajesh Kumar was killed and an army officer, Capt.Vikram Singh, was injured. Three militants were killed in the encounter.

A gunman killed a woman in upper Chowdi Nar area of Rajouri district last night.
