Monsoon withdraws

CHENNAI Dec. 27. The northeast monsoon has withdrawn from South India, the Meteorological Department announced today. The monsoon withdrew from Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Kerala and adjoining parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Dry weather prevailed in almost all parts of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshwadweep and Karnataka, it said.
