Hurriyat calls for 'serious' talks

SRINAGAR JAN. 4. The Hurriyat Conference today said that India should hold ``serious dialogue'' with Pakistan and those who represent the Kashmiris to resolve the problem but at the same time wanted the U.N. to implement its resolutions on Kashmir. ``India should start a serious dialogue with Pakistan and those who represent the Kashmiris... for a long-lasting and durable peace in the sub-continent,'' a Hurriyat spokesman said.

He appealed to the U.N. to implement its resolutions passed on January 5, 1949, on the Kashmir issue for the betterment of the people of the south Asian region.
