Shivani case committed to Sessions

New Delhi Jan 4. The Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, in which senior IPS officer, R. K. Sharma, is the main accused, was today committed to Sessions for trial.

The Metropolitan Magistrate J. P. Narain, who had been hearing the case till date, forwarded the case file and set January 18 as the next date of hearing. The case would come up before the Judge in-charge of the Karkardooma courts who would intimate which court the case has been transferred to.

In a related development, the prosecution today gave defence counsel copies of all documents, which they claimed had not been furnished to them.

Meanwhile, the court extended the judicial remand of Sharma and co-accused Sri Bhagwan, Pradeep Sharma, Satya Prakash, Ved Prakash Sharma and Ved alias Kalu, till January 18.
