The militant outfit, Jaish-e-Mohammad, has apologised for the killing of three Muslim girls in Hasyote village, in Rajouri district of Jammu region on December 19.
Talking to The Hindu today, the SSP Rajouri, Prithvi Raj Minhas, said that a few days ago, posters were seen in Thanna Mandi area in the district which said the JeM regretted and condemned the killings. The posters also warned the people against cooperating with the security forces.
Mr. Minhas said the apology had little meaning as the killings were the handiwork of the Al-Badr militant outfit.
Several messages had been intercepted by the security forces in the recent past about the differences between the militant outfits on various issues, he added.
