After the success of his major diplomatic venture when he called Ambassadors and mission heads of about 60 countries for an exchange of views over lunch, Mr. Naidu feels that it will be good for the party to listen to representatives of organisations such as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). "I want to send out the political message that the BJP is open and receptive to ideas. I also want to invite non-political experts in various fields to interact with party leaders on key issues," Mr. Naidu disclosed today while talking informally to presspersons. Increase of party-to-party contacts through sending BJP delegations to conferences of parties in other countries, getting academics to lecture to and interact with party leaders, listening to the views of industry leaders on economic issues and getting experts to make presentations on specific subjects will help educate the party and broaden its outlook while sending out a clear message that the BJP did not have a closed mind, but was, in fact, open to ideas, Mr. Naidu said.
