The `prabharis' of the States, presidents of the State units, leaders of Opposition in the Assemblies, MPs from the States and the party general secretaries will meet here to review the political situation and work out a strategy, Mr. Naidu said today. The meeting would also focus on dealing with factionalism in the party, especially in Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. What has become increasingly clear is that the BJP intends to make terrorism a big issue while charging the Congress with being soft on terrorists and Muslims. Thus the strategy would be to indirectly project the BJP as the Hindu party and hope that this would work. Mr. Naidu also announced the second phase of the party's ongoing "go to the village" programme under which party leaders are expected to spend a couple of days in the rural areas.
