Syndicate Bank profit up 35.08 pc

The operating profit of Syndicate Bank has risen by 35.08 per cent to Rs. 393.13 crores in the third quarter ended December 31, 2002 from Rs. 291.03 crores in the corresponding period last fiscal. The pre-tax profit has improved by 26.78 per cet to Rs. 313.94 crores from Rs. 247.63 crores and the net profit to Rs. 243.94 crores from Rs. 228.13 crores in the period under reference, says a bank release. The capital adequacy ratio has increased to 12.67 per cent from 12.12 percent during the current fiscal. Global business have increased by Rs. 1,599 crores to Rs. 44,568 crores, the release adds.
