The direction was issued by a Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice, N.K. Jain, and Justice V.G. Sabhahit on the petition filed by Govind Rao and three others of Hippalgaon in Aurad taluk of Bidar District.
Dismissed
The same Bench today dismissed a public interest writ petition seeking a direction to quash the notification issued by the Mysore City Corporation on the self-assessment of property tax based on the market value of the property concerned. The Federation of Taxpayers Associations, Mysore, submitted that the notification to levy property tax based on market value was illegal and liable to be quashed. The judges, after hearing petitioner's counsel, dismissed the petition observing that no public interest was involved.
