Gunmen fire at police in Kolkata

KOLKATA JAN. 23. Exactly a year after the terrorist attack on policemen outside the American Centre, unidentified gunmen today opened fire on police deployed near a key military installation of the Eastern Command headquarters here.

The gunmen fired on a police vehicle parked near the Fort William, the Eastern Command headquarters, in the maidan area in the wee hours from a speeding vehicle when the policemen tried to stop them, police sources said. No one was injured in the attack.
