9/11 attack 'suspect' returns home

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD Jan. 24. Mohd. Azmath Javed, a resident of Hyderabad arrested by the U.S. Government after the 9/11 attack, returned home this afternoon. Another Hyderabadi, Ayoob Ali Khan, who was arrested along with Azmath, was already in the city following his deportation to India on December 28.

As soon as he landed at the Begumpet airport, Azmath was arrested by the Hussainialam police and taken to Begumpet police station. Later, he was remanded to judicial custody. Speaking to reporters at the police station, Azmath said that he was ill-treated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation sleuths in America.

Ayoob and Ajmath, were arrested by the FBI suspecting them to be the terrorists involved in the 9/11 attack. Though they were acquitted of the charges, investigations proved them guilty of credit card fraud during their stay in America.
