Security intensified

NEW DELHI JAN. 25. Most parts of the country, especially Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and the north-east, were put under an intense and deterring security blanket ahead of the Republic Day tomorrow amid terrorist threats to disrupt the 54th annual celebrations.

With intelligence inputs suggesting that terrorists might use a small plane or any other flying object to carry out a strike, Air Force bases at several places across the country have been put on alert, fighter aircraft kept ready and effective air defence measures initiated to tackle any air intrusion. Intelligence agencies have warned that terrorists might try to carry out some ``sensational action''.
