The February sales were, however, lower by 7.5 per cent as compared to 1.46 lakh motorcycles sold in January this year, a company source said. Cumulative (April-February 2002-03) sales jumped by 21.1 per cent to 15.62 lakh motorcycles from 12.89 lakh units a year earlier. The company had recently said that it would fall short of its target of selling 1.8 million motorcycles this fiscal by 4-6 per cent due to stagnant demand following drought in various States. The company expects to sell 1.7-1.725 million motorcycles during the year ending March 31, 2003. It is, however, expected to cross its revenue target of $1 billion this fiscal. PTI
