In a statement here, Dr.Ramadoss appealed to the Government to reconsider its decision "in the interest of the public and the workers." If the Government went ahead with its privatisation plans, the PMK would bring together Opposition parties to jointly oppose the amendment Bill in the Assembly. He suggested that the Government encourage loss-making sugar mills, which were producing rectified spirit, to use them in manufacture of liquor, instead of supplying them to private liquor companies.
