Singhal `satisfied' with excavation

By Our Special Correspondent

CHENNAI MARCH 22. While expressing satisfaction over the excavation work being carried out by the Archaeological Survey of India in Ayodhya, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief, Ashok Singhal, today wanted Parliament to pass legislation for the early construction of a Ram temple there.

"I am sure the results of the excavation by the ASI would be the same as during the previous excavation. I think excavations by the ASI will practically get the same results." Since the judicial process would take time, Parliament should pass legislation facilitating temple construction.

Asked what the VHP would do in case of an unfavourable court verdict, Mr. Singh said "Let us see".
