IAS officer suspended

By Our Staff Reporter

BHUBANESWAR MARCH 31. Implementing the order of the Orissa Assembly Speaker, Sarat Kumar Kar, on Saturday, the Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, today announced the suspension of an IAS officer for allegedly misbehaving with a Minister and a senior legislator.

The officer, Hrushikesh Panda, had allegedly abused the Minister of State for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare, Balabhadra Majhi, and senior legislator Saharai Oram at the guesthouse of Kalinga Iron Works at Barbil on March 15.

Interestingly, Mr. Majhi's remarks in the guesthouse register tell a different story. Recording his impression, he said: "Accommodation is very comfortable and the service is very good".
