More DA for Central staff

NEW DELHI March 31. The Union Cabinet today decided on a three per cent increase in the dearness allowance for its in-service personnel and a similar raise in dearness relief for pensioners. With this, the rate of DA and DR would go up from 52 per cent to 55 per cent of the basic salary. The increases are with retrospective effect from January 1. The Union Minister and Cabinet spokesperson, Sushma Swaraj, said today that the total financial implication on account of the increase would be Rs. 1,091.7 crores per annum.
