`Good performance by units'
The Railways has claimed that all its production units performed well during the period from April 2002 to February 2003, with two of them exceeding the target.
The Rail Wheel Plant (earlier known as Wheel and Axle Plant), Bangalore, produced 92,750 wheels exceeding the target of 91,913.

Similarly, Diesel Component Works, Patiala, re-built 66 diesel locomotives against the target of 64.
The Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi, and Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, just met the targets.
The CLW rolled out 60 electric locomotive against the target of 60, DLW 89 diesel locomotive against the target of 89 and RCF 836 coaches against the target of 836.
However, the Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, fell short of target.

The shortfall was caused on account of ongoing development of sources and equipment for the prestigious Jan Shatabdi rakes, which would be made up in the coming months.
In February 2003, a total of 1,384 wagons were produced as against the target of 1,400.
