A voice of sanity

Sir, — This refers to your Editorial "Modi's unrelenting anti-minoritism" ( April 4 ). That the Modis, Togadias, Singhals and Bukharis would not read, let alone understand these arguments based on "... democracy and secularism" and facts are of little consequence. The vast majority of your readers, nay Indians, support the views you have so lucidly put across. These are the people who ultimately matter when it comes to moulding public opinion. The outbursts of the others bordering on the fringe of hysterical lunacy can never prevail. Your Editorial will only reinforce the average Indian's belief in the secular credentials of his country. Equally, it would strengthen his resolve to show the door to fundamentalist and fascist forces.

Sir, — This Editorial says, "It is totally against Article 25 of our Constitution to bring a Bill on anti-conversions". May I remind you that it was the Congress which introduced the bill first and not Mr. Modi. Well, if it is against Constitution, why is not anybody going to court?
