Killing of journalists condemned

COLOMBO APRIL 10. The Foreign Correspondents' Association of Sri Lanka has expressed dismay over the killing of journalists in Iraq and called for an independent inquiry into the attack on the hotel in which journalists were present.The Association, in a statement on Wednesday, said it was "deeply disturbed" by the killing of journalists in Iraq since the commencement of the war. "Providing and ensuring an environment in which journalists work without fear or favour is the prime responsibility of Governments and warring factions," it said.
