Jammu & Kashmir
By Our Special Correspondent
Raising the issue through a special mention in the Rajya Sabha, Mr. Soz said the Government has not announced any special package for the trouble-torn State to rejuvenate its economy. He charged that the Government seemed to be contented with the announcement made by the Prime Minister on May last during his tour of the State. He said what was approved by way of relief and security, and by provision of a broadgauge railway line from Jalandhar to Jammu had no relevance to the immediate needs of the State. Mr. Soz said that the package had no impact on the economy of the State and he would demand a special package during Mr. Vajpayee's proposed visit shortly.
