Mumbai April 12. Three former activists of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) and alleged associates of suspected Mulund bomb blast accused, Saquib Nachan, were arrested today in Thane district in a rioting case, police said.

The three — Thakki Iqbal Koth, Moti Iqbal Koth and Hasib Jaibarubh Mullah — were produced before a magistrate who remanded them to police custody till April 14. They are facing the charge of rioting on March 26 in Padgha village.

The three were arrested by Thane crime branch police and Padgha police in a combing operation in Padgha village.

The trio allegedly had links with Saquib Nachan who was arrested on April 10. When police had gone to the village to arrest Nachan, a 300-strong mob prevented them from performing their duty.
