I will not quit BJP, says Shanta Kumar

Dharamshala April 12. The former Union Rural Development Minister, Shanta Kumar, today said he had done nothing wrong in resigning from the Central Cabinet and added that he has always worked in the interest of the BJP and would continue to do so till his last breath.

``The BJP is my party which I organised from the grass roots in Himachal and I miss the party workers of those times now,'' he said and added that he would not leave the party and those who expected him to leave were doing injustice to him.

He said it was not important how much time people served in the State but how they served it. ``What matters was the achievement and not the time in power,'' he further said.

When asked as to why he was silent over the entire issue, Mr.Kumar replied that whatever job was assigned to him by the Prime Minister, A.B.Vajpayee, he did that honestly and sincerely.
