Orissa Minister quits

BHUBANESWAR
APRIL 12.
The Orissa Minister of Industries and Public Enterprises, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, resigned from the Naveen Patnaik Ministry this evening in protest against "non-cooperation" of the local administration in his constituency, Patnagarh.
Mr. Singh Deo, who sat on a dharna outside the office of the Block Development Officer at Patnagarh today, sent his resignation letter to the Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, who is on an official visit to New Delhi. Mr. Singh Deo belongs to the BJP, a partner in the BJD-BJP Coalititon Government.
His wife, Sangeeta Singh Deo, is the Lok Sabha MP from Bolangir. And the Patnagarh Assembly segment is part of the Bolangir Parliamentary seat.
