The jatha, which was being taken out from five places in the country, would culminate into a public meeting in New Delhi on May 9. The jatha, which originated at Kanyakumari, was being led by Mr. Raja. The rally, which entered the State in Hindupur yesterday, would cross the State on April 24. Addressing a public meeting at the RTC bus station, Mr. Raja called upon people to unseat the BJP Government, which he alleged was spreading communal venom across the country. The secular foundation of the country was being rocked by the BJP's communal policy. He said the liberalisation policy had resulted in unemployment and serious workers' unrest across the country. The CPI State assistant secretary, Narayana, who accompanied the rally in the State, criticised the support extended by the TDP to the BJP saying that the Telugu Desam was providing the much- needed oxygen to the BJP. He urged the Government to start midday meal centres for the aged and children in affected areas till the end of May.
