In a message, he said Lord Basaveshwara was one of our foremost religious reformers and social revolutionaries who heralded a social change in medieval India. ``Let his teachings inspire us to rise above narrow loyalties and parochial interests so as to usher in a social order of enduring amity, justice, and fellowship,'' the Governor said. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, has greeted the people on the occasion of Basava Jayanti. ``Let the celebration of Basava Jayanti inspire one and all to practise, all the time, relevant principles preached by the sharanas led by Basavanna,'' the Chief Minister said in a message. The Home Minister, Mallikarjun Kharge, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, have extended Basava Jayanti greetings to the people.
