Prasad won all his 15 Olympic round league matches with consummate ease and also had a new National record in one of the matches. Dola won all her seven contests without much ado. Prasad smashed the existing National mark of 169 points out of a possible 180 established at the second National ranking meet held at the same venue in March by Ved Kumar of Ordnance Factories Sports Control Board. Prasad scored 175 out of 180 against Raj Kumar of UP in one of the league match-ups. For Dola, it was far easier than expected as she registered her day's best of 164 against her Statemate Reena Kumari. Bhagyabati Chanu of Manipur was a surprise second place finisher with five points. She was followed by Asian junior champion Naohmi Laloo of Jharkhand with four points. Chekrovolu Swuro of Andhra Pradesh was pushed to fourth spot as she could earn just three points from as many wins. In the men's section, Tarundeep Rai of Army Sports Institute (ASI) was a surprise second with 13 points followed by his teammate and veteran Muni Ram Tirkey with 12. Ved Kumar, who finished second in the FITA ranking on Friday, was fourth having tied with ASI's Rajesh Hansdak and Kailash of UP. His higher total saw him place fourth. Hansdak and Kailash ended behind him. Veteran Limba Ram finished 16th. On the final day on Sunday, the 32 men and eight women would play in a knockout Olympic round to determine the individual champion. Each contest would be best of three.
