India to get Russian frigates soon

MOSCOW MAY 3. Russia will begin delivering high-tech stealth frigates to India in the next few weeks, defence industry sources said here. The first of the three Krivak-class frigates, ordered by India in 1997 at a cost of about $1 billion, would be handed over to an Indian crew by May-end or early-June, a year behind schedule. The delay was caused by problems in the integration of the newest weapons.
