As he started walking towards a waiting car, a journalist suggested him that the he render a poem as the weather was so beautiful. Mr. Vajpayee smiled and walked away without saying anything. However, he heeded to the requests by the press photographers to pose with the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, for them. He was welcomed by a host of dignitaries, including the Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, Mr. Krishna, the Mayor, C.M. Nagaraj, and the top BJP leaders of the State. The Prime Minister is slated to garland the statue of Basaveshwara at 10 a.m. on Sunday and subsequently take part in the christening of the Light Combat Aircraft at NAL before emplaning for Chennai in the afternoon.
