Traffic regulation for Meelad processions

CHENNAI MAY 14. The city police said today that vehicular traffic might be restricted on the routes of the two Meelad-un-Nabi processions on Thursday. The first procession will start at 2.30 p.m. opposite the Government Mint to the Mannady and Moore street junctions via Mount Road, Old Jail Road, Portuguese Street, Amman Koil Street, P.V.Iyer Street and Prakasam Salai.

The second procession will start at 3 p.m. from Angappa Naicken Street and terminate at Seerani Arangam after passing through Errabalu, Moore and Mannadi Streets, Prakasam Salai, Kuralagam junction, Esplanade Road, R.A.Mandapam junction, Muthusamy Road, Flag Staff Road, War Memorial and Kamarajar Salai, the police said and added that as a large number of people were expected to participate, the movement of vehicular traffic will be prohibited.
