He told presspersons here that the allocation would be done after that. Asked about the murder of an excise contractor in Bangalore, Mr. Krishna said the Government did not want a repeat of the incident. It was a solitary incident and not a reflection of law and order situation in the State. Such incidents would be dealt with firmly. On the fishermen's demand that the Chief Minister inaugurate the second stage of the Malpe Port built at a cost of Rs. 21 crore, Mr. Krishna asked the Minister of State for Ports and Fisheries, Vasanth V. Salian, about it. Mr. Salian said since Mr. Krishna was busy on May 21, it had been decided that the MP, Oscar Fernandes, should inaugurate it. When pointed out that the fishermen were pressing for the inauguration of the second stage of the port whenever the Chief Minister had time, as it was the biggest fishing harbour in Asia, Mr. Krishna said that he would not comment on the matter. On the Shivaramu episode, the Chief Minister said that the Government did not lack courage in dealing with officials. There were instances of the Government having taken a tough line against IAS officers. The issues concerning MRPL could be solved through discussions, he added.
