Letters to the Editor
Sir, P. Govindarajan's article on the mandir-masjid row, was like a breath of fresh air. All along we were asked to choose between Ram and Babar, as the Gujaratis were asked to choose between Modi and Musharraf. In both cases, the choices offered were no choices. They were rather red herring. Mr. Govindarajan seems to hit the nail on the head. He has quoted the Old Testament's viewpoint on idol worship, but has not quoted any Koranic verse to substantiate his statement. The question is whether we should perpetuate for ever and ever what Swami Vivekananda calls "the helps of spiritual childhood". When will humanity outgrow its spiritual childhood?
