Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Special Correspondent
In a bid to mount pressure on the Government to implement the recommendations of the House panel, the TRS organised relay hunger strikes in different parts of Telangana region. Senior party leaders including the TRS president, K Chandrasekhar Rao, the party general secretary, M Kishan Rao, and others participated in the relay hunger strike at the Babu Jagjivan Ram statue near LB Stadium in the city. Speaking on the occasion, the TRS president said though the House Committee unanimously recommended the repatriation of non-locals in some departments three months ago, the Government had failed to initiate action into the issue so far. Mr. Rao launched a trenchant attack on senior TDP leader and House panel chairman, R. Prakash Reddy, for his criticism of the TRS president that Mr. Rao founded the TRS after being denied a ministerial berth. "Mr. Reddy appears to have lost his mental balance in making such comments. In fact, the Telangana MLAs in the ruling party have proved that they can stoop to any level to stay put in their positions in the party and the Government,'' he said.
