India & World
"We should take history as a mirror instead of being burdened by it," the state CCTV quoted Mr. Vajpayee as saying before the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the world's most populous country in a decade. "The establishment of a strong and lasting partnership between India and China will be helpful for the world's peace and stability." India hoped to resolve long-standing border issues with China and strengthen trade relations during the trip, CCTV said. Reuters
