Commenting on the celebrations, the Indian skipper said tongue in cheek, "this has become a fashion these days to celebrate a cricketer's birthday.'' Speaking to the media, Ganguly said he was enjoying the captaincy despite finding the going very tough. He hoped to lead the side in the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies. Ganguly felt most of the key players of the current side should be around to play in the next World Cup. Expressing his happiness for the way the team played last season, Ganguly said, "the team needs to maintain the consistency now.''
